IG1 bug can colonize even the populated Center 1 planet – James Wagner

I found a bug in Imperium Galactica 1, big enough. Needless to say, I’ve been playing this game for 20 years, but I haven’t discovered it yet. I did find it today. The point is that in the Admiral position, the colonizing ship can be developed and even developed. After all, you have to colonize to build development labs. So I developed, built, and went to look for some colonies.

When the colonizing ship reaches the top of the planet and is discovered (spy satellite), it can be colonized! Yes, and here comes the trick!
There are two ways to do this:

1. You click on your colonizing fleet and the COLONIZE option appears. That’s what I’ve done so far, nothing’s wrong with that.

2. If you do so by sending your colonizing fleet over the planet and then clicking back on the planet, it will still appear when you get above it. Here comes the trick, When the COLONIZE option appears, you can colonize any alien-inhabited planet by clicking on it! YES! In fact, you will replace the buildings of the alien species with the species of HUMAN and the species will become HUMAN! You can do this three times while running out of your colonizing fleet. You recreate one, go over an uninhabited planet again, click on an uninhabited planet, and when colonization appears, you can click on and colonize any alien species.

Interesting mistake, but beware, you can freeze the game or mess up buildings. Just smart.
(The bug described here can only be exploited in “standard / DosBox IG1”. It doesn’t work for me in Open IG1. Endre editor’s opinion.)
