I think it would be possible to give a fantasy name, as I have done in a couple of cases. It might make the game more colorful. The ground units: weapons, tanks, and the remainder will be discussed later.

Grade 1: Titanium shield
Stage 2: Molecular shield
Stage 3: Time shift
Grade 4: Black hole shield
Stage 5: Dimensional shift
Guns:
Grade 1: Proton cannon
Stage 2: Magneto-proton cannon
Stage 3: Particle beam
Stage 4: Energy cannon
Grade 5: Light cannon
Grade 6: Valhalla
Grade 7: Anti-matter cannon
Firearms:
Lasers are the basics here. In addition, it could be:
-Terra laser
-Hexa laser
-Light beam
-Optical laser
-Concentrate beam
Bombs:
– Ion bomb
– A poison bomb (Say you move the ship away?)
– Splitting bomb
– Poison bomb
– Paralysis bomb
– Shock wave bomb

Same, but divided into several parts. Let’s say 10, you might give them another name:
